The 2025 Taiwan PGA Tour Year-End Appreciation Banquet and Outstanding Player Achievement Awards Ceremony was held last night (1/29) at Ambassador Hotel Hsinchu. Nearly 200 sponsors, distinguished guests, and professional players attended the event. TPGA not only expressed year-end gratitude to all corporate sponsors, co-host venues, and individuals, but also hosted the 2025 Taiwan Tour Outstanding Player Achievement Awards Ceremony, including annual money leaders from the Taiwan PGA Tour, ThreeBond Challenge Tour, and CHAU-SHI Series, as well as the Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year selected by a media judging panel.
The most notable highlight of the 2025 awards was Wang Wei-hsuan, who alone captured three honors: Player of the Year, Taiwan Tour Money Leader, and CHAU-SHI Series Money Leader. Hsieh Ting-wei also claimed two awards, winning both the ThreeBond Challenge Tour Money Leader and Rookie of the Year titles. All three of Wang Wei-hsuan’s awards marked his second time receiving them, while the CHAU-SHI Series Money Leader title was secured by him for a second consecutive year.
The list of 2025 award recipients is as follows:
Player of the Year – Wang Wei-hsuan
Rookie of the Year – Hsieh Ting-wei
Taiwan Tour Money Leader – Wang Wei-hsuan
ThreeBond Challenge Tour Money Leader – Hsieh Ting-wei
CHAU-SHI Series Money Leader – Wang Wei-hsuan
This marks Wang Wei-hsuan’s second time earning both the Taiwan Tour Money Leader and Player of the Year titles since first sweeping all major honors in 2020, including Taiwan Tour Money Leader, ThreeBond Challenge Tour Money Leader, Player of the Year, and Rookie of the Year.
The 2025 Taiwan PGA Tour season comprised a total of 28 tournaments, including nine Challenge Tour events, with total prize money reaching NT$146 million.
To encourage players to strive for better performance, in addition to the Taiwan Tour Money Leader, ThreeBond Challenge Tour Money Leader, and CHAU-SHI Series Money Leader awards (established in 2021), TPGA once again organized a judging panel this year following tradition. Nineteen media judges conducted a two-stage voting process to select the Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year.
Wang Wei-hsuan received unanimous approval from the media judges in the final voting stage to win Player of the Year, primarily due to his outstanding performances on both the Taiwan Tour and Asian Tour. In addition to finishing first on the Taiwan Tour money list, his runner-up result at the Asian Tour Macau Open in October helped him place ninth on the Asian Tour annual money list, earning him full Asian Tour playing privileges for 2026.
As the 2025 Taiwan Tour Money Leader, Wang Wei-hsuan captured three victories, including the Qing Lian HDF Open, Nan Pao Open, and Dinyue Restaurant Open. He also finished tied for second at the YEANGDER TPC Championship and placed solo third at the 39th Mercuries Taiwan Masters, both marking his career-best finishes in these two Asian Tour events held in Taiwan. He ultimately topped the Taiwan Tour money list with total earnings of NT$6,708,705. Hung Chien-yao ranked second with NT$3,056,319, while Shen Wei-cheng finished third, winning one title at the SANYA TPGA Championship and earning NT$2,761,926.
On the ThreeBond Challenge Tour, Hsieh Ting-wei claimed two victories among the nine events this season, including the opening event and the Yeangder Challenge. He accumulated total prize money of NT$556,999 to secure the Challenge Tour Money Leader title. Tsai Kai-jen finished second with NT$472,895, and Lee Jui-shen placed third with NT$430,500.
Hsieh Ting-wei was also voted Rookie of the Year, having delivered standout performances on both the ThreeBond Challenge Tour and the Taiwan Tour, finishing 13th on the Taiwan Tour money list.
To motivate players in pursuit of top honors, Taiwan Fu Hsing Industrial Co. has provided annual prize bonuses since 2022 for both the Taiwan Tour Money Leader and ThreeBond Challenge Tour Money Leader. Yesterday, Chairman Lin Jui-chang presented awards to the top three finishers on the Taiwan Tour and ThreeBond Challenge Tour money lists, with NT$500,000 for first place, NT$300,000 for second, and NT$200,000 for third, totaling NT$2 million in prize money.
After winning the 2024 CHAU-SHI Series Money Leader title, Wang Wei-hsuan’s three Taiwan Tour victories in 2025 were all CHAU-SHI Series events. With total earnings of NT$1,771,000, he successfully defended his CHAU-SHI Series Money Leader title and received an additional NT$250,000 bonus sponsored by HONLIN CONSTRUCTION CO., LTD Chairman Lin Guo-er, along with an entry into the 2026 Mercuries Taiwan Masters. Chairman Lin Guo-er also increased this bonus to NT$250,000 starting in 2025.
During the awards ceremony, Mercuries Honorary Chairman Wong Chau-shi and ThreeBond Hong Kong Limited President Miyamoto Naruhiko both took the stage to deliver encouraging remarks.
Yeangder Group Chairman Emmet Hsu, who has long supported TPGA’s growth and served as TPGA Honorary Chairman since 2019, was unable to attend due to prior commitments and appointed TPGA Chairman Chen Jun-hsin to speak on his behalf. He announced his intention to run for Chairman of the Chinese Taipei Golf Association (13th term), with his primary platform being the revival of the Taiwan Open after a 20-year hiatus. His goal is to showcase Taiwan to the world through the tournament’s return, elevate it in the future to the Asian Tour IS International Series level, and help Taiwanese golf reach the highest global stage, while encouraging young Taiwanese players to give their all and shine internationally.
TPGA Chairman Chen Jun-hsin stated that this year marks his final year in office following re-election. He expressed special thanks to all sponsors, host organizers, co-host courses, and members of the golf industry, saying, “Because of your support, TPGA’s Taiwan Tour, CHAU-SHI Series, and ThreeBond Challenge Tour have continued to grow, with increases in both total prize money and number of tournaments.”
He also noted that over the past two years, it has been encouraging to see young Taiwanese professionals emerge on the international stage, demonstrating new momentum and progress in Taiwan men’s professional golf. He hopes young players will give their all in every Taiwan Tour event, bravely pursue international competition, seek personal breakthroughs, and strive for greater glory.
The TPGA annual voting program began in 2015 and has now been held for 11 years. TPGA hopes this initiative will bring greater media exposure to golf, deepen public understanding and engagement, enhance the domestic golf environment, and help Taiwanese players connect more actively with the international scene, paving broader pathways in the sport.
